IBIS Ally Student Resources

Ibis Ally BadgeThe purpose of the IBIS Ally Network training program is to create a network of allies to the LGBTQIA+ community. University of Miami faculty, staff, and administrators who display the IBIS Ally symbol in their offices or elsewhere are part of this network.

About IBIS Allies

An IBIS Ally is a person (not a place) who is informed about and supportive of LGBTQIA+ concerns, respectful of confidentiality, and willing to help LGBTQIA+ people find resources when needed.

Network members have completed an intensive, three-part training program designed to educate them and build their skills on how to be an advocate and resource for LGBTQIA+ students. Additionally, they've pledged to promote a campus community that is inclusive, supportive, and equitable for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities and expressions. Network members are required to re-certify their membership annually.
